JANUARY 8, 2015
A regular meeting of the Elmira Township board was held on January 8, 2015 at the Elmira Township hall commencing at 6:00 p.m. with Supervisor, Diane Franckowiak calling the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Members present were Supervisor, Diane Franckowiak, Clerk, Susan Schaedig, Treasurer, Diane Purgiel and Trustees, Leonard Skop and Dale Holzschu.
Resident Dave Johannigsmeier and Ordinance Officer, Ron Geiger were also in attendance.
Leonard made a motion to accept the minutes as presented. Seconded by Dale and carried unanimously.
ORDINANCE OFFICER REPORT:
Ron stated that he had visited the Trunk Lane site. Nothing had been plowed. Owner, Jamie Schaeffer plans to raze and clean up the site. The renter is responsible for five or six vehicles.
Ron has contacted Jim Zaremba in regard to a complaint on the property in Elmira. Taxes are being paid and he is in compliance with the County.
Jim stated that he may put a building on the slab at some point. Ron will keep in touch with Jim.
Ron spoke with Jack Jaroneski in regard to the complaint on his property. The house is being rented and Jack wants to get the property out of the barn. There were seven vehicles and two have been removed. In two to four weeks all vehicles will be gone.
ASSESSOR’S REPORT:
The Equalization numbers are relatively even so there will be no significant changes this year.
The changes in the personal property laws, other than the exemption that went into place last year, do not start until 2016.
Diane F stated that she told Debbie that she will not be assisting her any more with the assessor’s duties.

Dale made a motion to pay the bills. Seconded by Diane P and carried unanimously.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Diane P stated that she put 210,000.00 into a new CD for 23 months at Community Financial. Funds were taken from First Federal ICS account.

OLD BUSINESS:
The board discussed the replacement of a township board member to the Elmira Township Planning Commission since Dale Holzschu declined to be the representative any longer.
NEW BUSINESS:
Diane F made a motion in the form of a Resolution to Adopt Poverty Exemption Income Guidelines Income Guidelines and Asset Test. Seconded by Leonard.

Leonard suggested to install a street light at Mt Jack and C-42.
The board discussed the replacement of all the ceiling tiles in the hall and painting the walls in the kitchen and main hall. Sue will contact Calvin.
There being no further business to come before the board Leonard made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Dale. Meeting adjourned at 6:46 p.m..
